Cardinal Newman defeated Maria Carrillo, for the second time this week, 3-0 on Friday. Two pitchers combined for shutout of the Pumas. Tanner Bradley struck out Jason Dalby to finish off the game, earning the save for Landon Rota.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Newman pitchers struck out seven and Carrillo starter Wesley Allen notched five Ks.

CN got things started in the first inning as Allen had control trouble.  Anane Wilson came around on 3 wild pitches after singling in first, one of two hits on the day. 

Starter Landon Rota allowed just three hits and no runs over five innings, striking out five. Bradley threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. 

Wilson and Nathan Phelps each ad two hits at the top of the Newman order, as the Cardinals remain unbeaten in NBL Play.  Now its off to the Boras Classic for the highly ranked Cardinals.
