Scoring Highlights:

• 1st Half - Maria Carrillo scored on a great counterattack. Cardinal Newman was in possession in their own half, the Maria Carrillo defense turned CN over in the middle of the field, and Carson Hubenette quickly found a cutting Jake Spector for the finish.
• 2nd Half - Cardinal Newman scored about halfway through the second half, Sebastien Farivre received a pass on the left wing, and he found Gavin Stone (freshman) towards the top of the box, Gavin was able to turn and beat his defender off the dribble to score into the corner of the goal. 
• Nacio Gutierrez played well for CN in the midfield winning a lot of possession and making good passes,  Aiden Flanagan and Ethan Boyd played well as a center-back pairing for MC keeping CN shots on goal total low, and both goalkeepers (Devon Taylor/Nathan Arendt) made strong saves and did well on crosses into the box.
