Guerneville, CA - The 2023 Women's Golf season got under way today at Northwood Golf and the Cardinals got solid play from several newcomers and a team low of 40 from Ella Foley on route to a 21 stroke victory over the Tigers. 

Analy, favored to win the NBL Redwood, got a match low 38 from Peyton Bunch on their home course, the picturesque Alister MacKenzie designed course. Newman had clutch play from Keely Collins (44) and Lauren McKeown (52) and playing in the 6th slot, Lala Luci with a 51 that ended up counting in the final 5 score total.  Analy's 5th best score was a 62.

One of the highlights of the day was Keely Collins birdying the par 5 - 5th hole mid-way through the round.

Newman looks to defend their NBL Oak Title here in 2023 and this win over a quality opponent with one of their top players out sick is a great confidence booster here in the early season.

Thursday the team heads up the 101 to take on Windsor.
