Gabby Sinatra Tees offÂ
Following an incredibly rewarding 2021 campaign, what would the 22' season bring? How
about an undefeated season! The girls backed up the success of previous years by winning
another NBL Oak league title and the Division 2 NCS Championship, besting Branson from Ross
by 19 strokes at Rooster Run GC in Petaluma.
The journey was not over for three exceptional players as Lillie Dayton (76), Ella Foley (76) and Gabby Sinatra (79), qualified as individuals and
competed in the D1 championship the following week. Against the best players from the
greater bay area, Gabby Sinatra relied on her skill and vast competitive experience to fire an
amazing 69 (-2) and advance to the highest level, the NorCal Championship at Berkeley CC.
The season's strong team performance was rewarded with multiple individual All-League
selections;
Gabby Sinatra (38.5 avg.), Player of The Year
Lillie Dayton (39.9), Ella Foley (41.9) and Keely Collins (43.6), First Team
Lauren McKeown (53) and Lulu Mazur (55.4), Second Team
Special recognition from our Cardinal Newman family to the Fountaingrove Club for supporting
our golf team again this season, each high school golf program needs a facility part
Ella Foley putting for Birdie
ner and we
are lucky to have the best.
With a 16-player roster in 21', who could have imagined the growth we saw this season. 21
players represented the Cardinal Newman girls golf team exceptionally well, quite a foundation
we have to build on at CN. Finally, we say good bye to an extraordinarily decorated senior class;
Daire Hassett, Deja Duenas (scholar athlete), Kate Wheadon (scholar athlete), Lulu Mazur,
Annabelle Vaughan, Lillie Dayton and Gabby Sinatra. The strength of the program is a direct
reflection of you as players and teammates, on and off the course. Thank you.
