Cardinal Newman pulled off a huge upset by defeating Windsor in five sets, by scores of 26-28, 25-18, 25-17, 21-25, 15-10 to run their record to 24-7 on the season. The win by the Cardinasl ends Windsors 29 game league unbeaten streak and sets Newman up for a good seed in the upcoming NCS playoffs..
It was the first win for Head Coach Daryl Kapis against Windsor High School who is in his third season with the Cardinals.

Four Cardinals had double digit kills on the night with outside hitter
Cienna Alvarez leading the team with 15 and five aces. Middle hitter
Summer Binder chipped in 14, and Waller with 11.
Setting the squad was Kimberly Wilson who totaled 42 assists on the night, along with Waller's nine assists and 24 digs.

Giana Tamayo was equally impressive with 18 digs, and more importantly was behind the service line scoring 15 points and was huge in game five overcoming an early lead that the Jaguars couldn't hold on to.
"It was a great team effort, and we had a full game plan in place that we had been working on for three days to give us our best chance of success. It was fantastic to see them execute it at the highest level." added Kapis.
Cardinal Newman has one last league opponent in Maria Carrillo before the playoff seeding meeting on Sunday.
