Women's Volleyball hosted Justin-Siena of Napa in the first home match of the year and won 3-0 to even their record at 1-1 on the season. The Cardinals had solid team work and defense leading to a first game victory 25-20.
Game 2 was a back and forth struggle but the Cardinals remained steady with great defense and passing to pull away 25-19. Justin-Siena was determined to avoid a sweep but Newman carried the momentum and energy from the home crowd to a 25-17 win to take the match 3-0.
Julia Waller led the team with 13 kills, 5 service aces and 12 assists. Kimmy Wilson was solid all night with 9 kills, 9 digs and 11 assists.
Marina Logan contributed 4 kills and 3 aces, while Libero
Caroline Dougherty notched 14 digs and had 16 serve receive passes.
Newman is now 1-1 on the year and travels to Vintage on Wednesday night.
