Petaluma, Calif- The Cardinals and Jaguars squared off for the Consolation Championship at Casa Grande on Saturday and after a close first quarter, CN took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Jaguars 18-4.
The CN defense was the key to victory, holding Windsor to four second quarter points and also holding Windsor scoreless during the final five minutes of the game.
The Cardinals are now 10-2 on the year despite playing with several Freshman and having returning post player
Mahdi Camara just returning to the lineup from an injury.
Coach Travis Taylor was extremely proud and honored as the team received the James Forni Memorial Sportsmanship Award.
Next up, the Cardinals open up NBL Oak play as they host Analy on Saturday the 23rd.
Tatum Kurpinsky is expected to make his Cardinal Newman debut in this one, which should give the Cardinals a huge scoring punch. The 6' 4" junior averaged 17 Points per game last year at Cloverdale.
